Pesto and cheese wheels

These puff pastry wheels are quick to make and great for baby led weaning. They are also good for hiding all sorts of vegetables in!!


1x ready rolled puff pastry sheet

2x desert spoons of red pesto

( if you would rather you can use tomato purée)

2/3 handfuls of cheese

1/2 a pepper cut into very small cubes

1x egg (just for egg wash)


  1. Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees, and grease a baking tray.
  2. Unroll your puff pastry sheet, and spread two desert spoons of pesto over the pastry.
  3. Sprinkle the cheese and the very small cubes of pepper over the pastry.

4.Roll the pastry back up into a cylinder (pic below) egg wash the edge and stick together.

5. Cut slices off the pastry, place on a greased baking tray and egg wash.

6. Cook for 25mins in a preheated oven at 180 degrees.

You could swap the peppers for courgette, mushrooms, sweet corn. Anything really…
