You may or may not know that since Elijah has been born we have been struggling with the lack of sleep.
Elijah has Laryngomalacia which disturbs his sleep he is usually up in the 6,7,8 times and that’s when we are co-sleeping – its worse if i try and put him in his cot! But you can read about that here.
So you can imagine our desperation, I contacted My Hummy and they very kindly offered to send me a Snoozy to the rescue!
We received our Snoozy 2 weeks ago and it has been AMAZING!
Elijah will now sleep in his cot, we were beginning to think he would still be in our bed when he was 10 years old!
I wasn’t expecting a miracle, but it has really helped.
He will now go down in his cot just after 7pm with his Snoozy and wake just twice for a feed before waking about 5:30am. Now those of you who are blessed with children that sleep, may think that this still sounds like an awful night, but trust me this is pure Luxury! I don’t feel like a zombie anymore!
We could not have imagined that Elijah would sleep this well two week’s ago, we thought we were going to have to get rid of our bed and just have a king sized mattress on the floor!
It doen’t stop there, Elijah will also have a 2-2 1/2 hour nap in his cot during the day, we used to joke that he was the king of power naps, only sleeping in the Pushchair or in our arms.
What is a Snoozy?
A snoozy is a cuddly toy that plays white noise, and how cute is he!
When you first turn it on it plays for 60 minuets and then stops, any time your little one stirs the white noise starts again. What I really like is that it starts off very quietly before reaching your desired volume, this seems to work really well to settle Elijah.
How does it work?
To operate the Snoozy you use a succession of different combinations, these can take a little while to get used to, but once you do its very easy.
To turn on your Snoozy you press the button for 1 second and then let go.
To turn it off you press for 2 seconds and then let go.
You can choose from 5 different sounds, we currently have the one that sounds like a heartbeat.
You can change the sound level and even put it on a continuous mode.
I would highly recommend The Snoozy for anyone who is living with a Sleep Thief! It has worked for us, it could work for you too. He will now go everywhere with us until he is so thread bear that we need to get a new one!
